Faux news lines up more Ex-Clinton staffers

Howard Wolfson is joining Lanny Davis at Faux news, to, as Howard put it:

""Fox has the largest audience in cable television -- many of its viewers are independents who will help decide the next election," said Wolfson of his decision. "It's critically important for strong progressives to be talking to and offering analysis to that audience."

Off camera, Wolfson snorted "Hell, they are lining my pockets with cash and I can keep my other job as a lobbyist/consultant! All I gotta do is continue to slime Obama just like I did in the primary campaign, but, of course, be "Fair and balanced" about it-What a HOOT!"

Faux immediately announced a new show entitled:

"Concerned about Obama" with Wolfson and Davis giving a daily update about "concerns" that progressives need to have about Obama.

"It's important that progressives know how concerned they should be about Obama" said Davis on the set of his new show. "OK, it's true, the rest of the Faux shows are basically tongue baths for McCain, but we can't let Obama off that easy, we need to hold him to "a higher standard."

Faux has reported that talks have broken down with Mark Penn for his Faux news contract, as his demands to "have more quality time with Hannity then Dick Morris" has not been met by Faux management.

Don't trust Wolfson's motives...subversive move to supplant Obama by seeming lukewarm or "accidentally" making gaffes about him...He will only promote HRC interests... But then, since Obama's losing his bearings ( betrayal of the base ) this may not be a bad thing...

"the base" seems to be full of petulant children that are going to cry whenever an issue doesn't go 100% of their way. Might as well disappoint them now, because having the children cry every week over the next issue would have gotten old anyway.

Post partisan doesn't mean completely partisan, how did they not get this?

This is a good move by Fox and a move they are doing to keep them viable when a democrat is in the Whitehouse. They had their reign with 8 years of bush but looking forward if they don't alter their partisan shop, they will fall by the wayside.

No more access to the Whitehouse like they had.

He was warmly received by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who called him "a leader that God has blessed us with at this time."

Snark aside, I agree with this. Hopefully he doesn't get bullied like Colmes or give in so easily like Davis.

It MAY have the largest audience in cable TV, but I don't agree with Wolfoson claim about "Independents."

In the 2004 election, self-identified "Foxs News Viewers" voted for Bush over Kerry by a margin of 88%.

That is higher then Evangelicals, or any other self-identified Republic group.

I have NO problem with counter opinions, and, I agree, in spite of my snark, it would be NICE if Wolfson shows some Cajones and not just wimp out like Susan Estrich and the rest of the so-called Progressives Faux trots out.

I don't mind the challenge of trying to woo such voters, who clearly aren't in love w/ McCain, to Obama who wants to lower taxes for the vast majority of Americans.

If Wolfson can make a few McCain voters switch to Bob Barr, that's victory enough.

And agreed, 100%, on the cojones.

Anyone who thinks that Wolfson is going to actually promote legitimate Democratic, Progressive, or even center-left values is fooling themselves.

Look at Alan Colmes: he's a punching bag for Hannity.

Look at Gerry Ferraro: she was on FOX doing PUMA work before there was a PUMA.

Like Lanny Davis, Wolfson will be there to push the worst stereotypes of Democrats held by FOX viewers. He'll revisit the primary battles in the most unflattering way possible and make them somehow relevant to whatever paradigm Murdoch is pushing this week.

I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

of the Democratic Party, effectively, by the loss of Hillary Clinton. The only real schtick he has left is pimping Joe Lieberman and trashing the Democratic Party for being "too far" to the left. (Joe, on the other hand, is the model of where the Democratic Party should be.)

Don't expect anything about that to change with him on Fox. Roger Ailes should LOVE that.

I was disappointed when the DNC refused to sanction the CBC/FOX debate in Detroit. During the primary FOX News proved IMO to be fairer in the coverage of Hillary Clinton than MSNBC. I found myself tuning in more than just occasionally to FOX. I'm not surprised those who advocated or were employed by Clinton's campaign have found employment with them.

There are Democrats who have concerns about Obama. I think they should have an opportunity to express them.

They weren't fairer to her, they were biased in her favor for their own personal gain.

You liked Fox for the same reason Obama supporters like Olbermann: they said nice things about your candidate. Those same people were trying to destroy Clinton up until February when they realized that their only hope was for Clinton to either win or damage Obama severely enough for him to be crippled in the general.

Plenty of concerns about Obama are still discussed by the media, don't worry.

I disagree. MSNBC was obviously supporting Obama. FOX News was not supporting Clinton.

FOX News was fairer in coverage than MSNBC because they did not choose sides and stay there. By your own admission they were against her before they were for her.

it's hard to take anybody seriously on MyDD who criticizes MSNBC for having progressives like Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow. Anybody that thinks Fox News REALLY is fair and balanced (and that includes Terry McAuliffe) lives on a different planet than I do.

Hell, I don't like Chris Matthews, but even he is a far sight better than anybody on Fox News. I watched his show today, and it was a brilliant fillet job on McCain and the war in the light of Maliki's statement that HE WANTS a timetable. Regardless of who you wanted for president, if you want out of this war, you can't blind yourself to the fact that Fox lives and breathes pro-war propaganda. Even Chris Matthews, dumbly sexist as he is, is a much needed relief from that.

Perhaps during the primary you found the sexist diatribes against Hillary Clinton on MSNBC progressive. I did not. Perhaps you have decided you will continue to support the sponsors and tune in to MSNBC. I will not.

I find it hard to take you seriously since you believe Keith Olbermann is a progressive. However you are expressing your opinion and as that saying goes...everyone has one. IMO he and Chris Matthews are sexist scumsucking turdheads.

FOX News was not innocent and neither was CNN but of the three MSNBC was the worst. I've deleted the station from the channel set up and it will never be viewed again.

Oh, and how is that Surge going? Fox Newswatch told me last Sunday that we're winning and those dirty liberal journalists don't want us to know because they hate George W. Bush so much they'd rather see us lose the war. Grrrr... Damn dirty liberals.
